What's In My Bag: Michael Kors Mini Selma

michael kors messenger mini selma bag review
I have always been a big handbag kinda girl but sometimes they are just not practical so for Christmas I asked for this Michael Kors Mini Selma (full review here).
Now this bag is small so you have to decide carefully what you need to pack. There is no room for non-necessities here!
So I whittled down what was in my previous mah-ousive bag to some little essentials that I thought I may need on a day or evening out.
First things first I have a little purse from Cath Kidston, a girls gotta have some cash….or at least cards as the case may be sometimes! This purse fits just enough in for the day to day tasks without having to carry around my big Ted Baker purse.
Next up is a sparkly pen because lets face it we all need a sparkly pen in our lives, I am a bit of a stationary nerd!
For touch ups on the go I have got a mini packet of facial wipes. These are from Halo and I think they are nice just to refresh your skin throughout the day or just to give your hands a quick wipe.
A straggly old hair tie, not much to say there! And finally a compact and a lip gloss. This lip gloss is a really beautiful shade of pink from the Rimmel Vinyl Gloss range, I think it is in the shade ‘Snog’ but the label has worn off!
Usually I will have my phone and my keys in here and that is it as it simply cannot fit anything else in. What can I say, it’s small but I love it!

My Go-To Red Lipstick

yves rocher rouge red moisturising lipstick
Every girl needs to have at least one red lip stick in their collection which is their ‘go-to’ red and this is mine.
This is the Rouge Crème Hydratant Moisturising Cream Lipstick from Yves Rocher in the shade 101 Framboise.
yves rocher rouge red moisturising lipstick swatch
As soon as you apply this lipstick you can feel how creamy it is, it glides on with an instant hit of colour. It feels so moisturising on yours lips with none of the dreaded cracking or bleeding which is notorious with the reds!
The colour is really long lasting, being a creamier lipstick I think that perhaps it helps to tint the lips making the colour last a really long time.
yves rocher red moistursing lipstick
This really is an in your face red, bold, classic and sexy.  I think this particular shade may have been discontinued but the range is still available from Yves Rocher, and at just £7.90 I think they are a steal!

The Drug Store Mascara You Need To Try

maybelline lash sensational budget drug store mascara
I had been wanting to try this mascara for a little while but I already had another two mascaras on the go so could not justify buying another one! The day finally arrived to try this beauty and I have to say it did not disappoint.
The Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara, ‘Lash multiplying brush, lashes look visibly multiplied and fuller’, sound too good to be true?
First things first I’m going to put it out there, I am not usually a fan of fancy mascara brushes. I like a simple soft bristled brush which does the job. This one is completely out of my comfort zone, it has a hard brush which is slightly curved to glide through your lashes. I have to say may have been converted.

With and Without Mascara

Not only does the brush sweep through your lashes making them extend to the ceiling (maybe exaggerating!)  it covers them evenly in a formula which I love! It stays wet enough to really let you work your lashes to give them a great curve and elongated effect with fantastic volume.
I have always like Maybelline mascaras but this one really does stand out from the crowd, amazing quality which is amazingly affordable, can’t grumble at that!

5 Simple Ways to Save Money This Summer

save money summer days out trips

With the summer holidays upon us I thought I would put together 5 simples ways that can help you save you money this summer.
1.       Look for vouchers – There are vouchers every where that can help you save money on days out.  For example I have just purchased a box of Kellogg’s cereal which has a voucher on the side for a free adult ticket to over 40 attractions including Sea Life, Warwick Castle and Chessington World of Adventures.  A great website that I have used in the past is Days Out Guide, this site allows you to get 2 for 1 entry to London Attractions when you travel there by train.

2.       Cheap BBQ food – It may work out cheaper to buy your BBQ food from the butchers. The meat is also really tasty and you are less likely to have waste as you can buy exactly the amount of food you need. In my house there are only 2 of us so the waste issue is the main concern for us, we can buy a good selection of a variety of meats at our local butchers for a fraction of the price of going to the supermarket.

3.       Plan your currency – Do not leave getting your currency to the last minute and certainly do not get it at the airport! Have a research to see what deals you can find. Sometimes it can work out better by getting your euros with somebody else as I know in the Post Office they give you a better rate when you buy over a certain amount of euros.

4.       Pack a drink! – This may seem like a very small and insignificant point but have a think about what food and drink you are going to need throughout the day on a trip out. I have seen some places charge up to £3 for a bottle of water! If you are a family of 4 that’s £12 just for water! Be prepared and pack some snacks and water to tide you over.

5.       Free days out – Having days out do not need to cost the earth. Visit Britain has a wide range of free or cheap days out which you can enjoy up and down the country.

What tips have you got to save money this Summer?

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

caudalie beauty elixir review
The Caudalie Beauty Elixer has been a big product in the blogging world for a while. It is one of those that people either love or hate. With the slightly warmer weather I decided I would give it a go to use to refresh my skin throughout the day.

I have seen different ways to use this. Some people like to spray it on as a base before applying makeup, others like to use it as a skin refresher throughout the day and some people like to use it at night time. As I said with this warmer weather my skin has been getting a bit flustered throughout the day so this has been nice just to cool me down a bit.
The smell is a bit of a sore subject for some people but personally I quite like it (wierd?). It kind of reminds with the aromatherapy oils and I actually find it quite relaxing, other people absolutely detest it so I guess this is purely down to personal preference.
I think more than anything this is perhaps a luxury, treat product. It does not work wonders and it probably will not drastically improve your skin but it one of those things that is nice just to give yourself a bit of a pamper throughout the day.
As I said I do like this stuff, it fits in my handbag easily and especially if I am work I can just take a minute, spray some of this on and it just helps to refresh my skin and my mind!

Magnitone Lucid Cleansing Brush & Discount Code

magnitone lucid cleansing brush review
I recently took part in the #Bloggerslve twitter party and was lucky enough to be chosen to review this Magnitone Lucid Daily Cleansing and Exfoliation Brush. I have wanted to try a cleansing brush for a while so I was really chuffed when I got the e-mail to say one of these would be on its way to me!
magnitone lucid cleansing brush review

Using the brush is really simple and easy to incorporate in to your daily cleansing routine. I have found that what works best for my skin is to use this in the morning. You simply splash your face with water, wet the brush, put your cleanser on the brush, turn it on and you are good to go! There are 2 modes to chose from; deep clean and sensitive. I have been using the sensitive setting and have found that it works great. You do not even have to worry about over exfoliating your skin as the buzzer tells you when to move on to the next section of your face. Anything that makes my morning routine easy when I’m half asleep gets a big tick from me!
Magnitone promise that using this brush will give your softer, brighter, smoother skin in 7 days. Now I am an optimist but I had my doubts about this. However Magnitone proved me wrong. Recently my skin has been playing up, I don’t know why it could be the change of weather or stress, who knows. Anyway I was experiencing some problems on my chin and some dryness. After using this even after 4-5 days I noticed a huge difference. The spots have cleared and the dryness has completely gone.
I really like this cleansing brush and compared to some other brands on the market like Clarisonic it is much cheaper. But I know how you guys like a bargain so here is a discount code for 20% off to use with Magnitone: BLOVE20 just click this link to use: Magnitone.

Sugar & Spice Ultra Blush and Contour Palette - Makeup Revolution

Makeup revolution sugar and spice blush palette
I had been waiting to try the Sugar and Spice - Ultra Blushand Contour palette from Makeup Revolution for a while but it was out of stock for quite a long time. When I finally got my hands on it I have to say it did not disappoint.
makeup revolution packaging sugar and spice blush palette
For just £6 you get 8 of these gorgeous blushes, that’s just 75p a blush! And the packaging is so sleek, it looks so much more expensive than what it is.
makeup revolution sugar and spice blush contour palette swatch swatches
The blushes themselves are so pigmented and they last on the skin all day. I cannot pick a favourite as they are all so lovely. I have however been particularly enjoying using the highlight shimmer pink across my cheek bones to give a bit of definition.
I just can’t believe this was only £6, it is the bargain of the century. Being a lover of pink I had to pick up this palette first but I definitely want to try a few more that Makeup Revolution sell. I guess there is nothing more to say apart from Makeup Revolution I salute you!
