Quick and Easy Flapjacks

These flapjacks are really quick and easy to make but they taste delicious! Let me know if you give them a go!

You will need
  • A 32cm baking tray (greased)
  • 400g porridge oats
  • 220g butter
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of golden syrup

How to make your flapjacks
  • Preheat the oven to gas mark 4/180c/350f
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan
  • Mix the sugar and oats together in a bowl. I do this by hand to make sure they are blended evenly
  • Add the melted butter to the mixture and mix until all of the oats are coated
  • Add the golden syrup to the mixture and stir again
  • Your mixture is now ready to go! Place it into your greased baking tray and make sure it is pressed down evenly with a metal spoon.
  • Bake for around 25 minutes until golden brown
  • When the flapjack is baked cut it into squares. I make mine into 12. Do this before the flapjack has cooled
  • Leave for a few minutes to cool and then remove from the baking tray

If you have any quick and easy recipe’s let me know!

Bliss Lemon and Sage Body Wash and Body Butter

I don’t know about you but I absolutely hate waking up in the mornings. I love my bed too much and need something to wake me up and kick start my day. For any of you that are like me I think I may have found the perfect shower combination.

I am not normally a huge fan of lemon scented body products as I find some of them can smell too artificial and overly sweet however these products are the complete opposite. The lemon and sage duo from Bliss smell absolutely amazing. They are so zesty and really invigorate your senses. If you were to close your eyes and smell the body wash it is like smelling an actual lemon, it is lovely and fresh.

The body butter extends the longevity of the scent on your skin as well as making it feel soft and moisturised even when using a small amount.

The only problem that I have had with these products is that the body wash is supposed to double up as a bubble bath as well which I do not rate it for at all. At first I was really impressed at how many bubbles it had produced and it smelt gorgeous. However, after getting in the bath after about two minutes the bubbles just disappeared.

Despite this minor set back I still think these are both fantastic products and they are just what I need to drag my bum out of bed in the mornings and to make me feel more ready to face the word.

Have you tried any products from Bliss?

What's In My Every Day Bag?

I'm nosey and always enjoy reading a ‘What’s in my bag’ post so naturally I thought I should do my own for anybody else out there who is nosey like me!
So first off this is my bag. This is the Germaine tote bag from Mischa Barton’s collection and I love it. It is really roomy, its great quality and I absolutely love the design.

The first thing that is in my bag is this bag organiser which I got from Amazon for around £3. Now I know it doesn’t look like the coolest thing to have in your bag but I think it’s great. Not only does it keep all my stuff in pockets making it easy to find but it also protects the lining of my bag.

So the biggest things I keep in my bag are a diary, a notebook, my purse and also a separate little beauty bag.

In the beauty bag I keep ladies hygiene items (you know what I’m talking about), pain killers and a small amount of other little goodies. I like to have a little perfume sample of some sort at the moment I am using Lady Gaga’s. I also have the Figs and Rouge balm in Cherry Vanilla, a Palmers cocoa butter lip balm, Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream sample and a compact mirror.

Now on to the main goodies. I have a tube of Elizabeth Arden moisturiser, a tangle teezer, cleansing wipes for wiping my hands, a sachet or aero hot chocolate (you never know when you might fancy a hot chocolate), some go ahead crispy slices in case I get peckish, a pen, some trebor mints and my headphones.
And that my beautiful friends is it, did I mention I do like to carry around everything but the kitchen sink!

Radox Coconut Kiss Shower Cream

I absolutely have to tell you about this shower gel! Well it’s a shower cream actually but it smells absolutely amazing!

This little baby was found in the pound shop which I thought was a great buy. The Coconut Kiss shower cream contains exotic coconut and milk. To me it smells just like summer holidays.

The coconut goodness sinks into your skin and the smell lingers afterwards which I love. I found that it is also really moisturising and leaves your skin feeling super soft.

All in all I cannot fault this product whatsoever and if you can get your hands on it I would definitely give it a go, especially if like me you found it in the pound shop!

What have been your best pound shop finds?

Ted Baker Purse

Today I wanted to share with you guys something that I use almost on a daily basis and something that I absolutely love which is my Ted Baker purse.

I got this as a present for Christmas and I have to say it is the best purse that I have ever had.

I am the type of girl who likes a big purse, something that has plenty of room without looking too bulky or over the top and I think this purse does that perfectly.

I absolutely adore the colour, it is very girly and very me. Who can say they don't like a bit of pink and gold?

The detailing on the purse is fantastic. I love the little bits of detailing that set it off. The bows on the clasps are so cute and the Ted Baker embossing around the clasps is an extra bit too make it extra special in my eyes.

As I said I like a big purse, this purse has so much storage and pockets. There is plenty of room for your cash, cards, vouchers, receipts, stamps and more. I can't be doing with all that faffing around trying to stuff things into little pockets.

The detailing continues on the inside of the purse. I love this little phrase that’s is printed on the leather, 'Ted says the more you give, the more you get'. The lining of the purse is super cute with the dogs and it also means the coins don't rub on the leather.

I think this cost around £75 which isn't the cheapest purse on the market but I think for the design and the quality it is definitely worth it. You can get a good selection of Ted Baker purses with various designs either on their website here or at House of Fraser.

What sort of purse to you use? If you have done a post like this link it below

Comic books and Super Heroes seem to have completely exploded recently. I have to admit I am a bit partial to the odd super hero film, especially Iron Man, not just for Robert Downey Jr of course. Cartoon Mini Dress £22

Wonder Woman Night Dress £19

Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara

I managed to pick this mascara up when it was first released for just £2 as I had a voucher sent with my Boots point’s statement, happy days!

Now this is the first time I have tried anything from the Seventeen range and I have to say I am impressed.
The packaging is really cute and the brush is curved to glide through your lashes easily leaving them looking lovely and fluttery.

I really like the formula of this mascara as well; it is not at all sticky or clumpy and gives your lashes a natural look.

Before

After

I have been using this as more of a day time mascara as when I am going out I prefer something that adds a bit more volume to my lashes. I think this a great mascara for when you want minimal makeup or a day time look yet want your eyes to look amazing.

Urban Decay Loose Pigment Eye Shadow

Yeyo , Baked , Goddess

There are some Urban Decay products that seem to have fallen off the radar, these eye shadows are one of them. I guess with the popularity of the Urban Decay palettes it’s easy to bypass smaller items from their collections. I got these in a set for Christmas and individually they have an RRP of £11.50, however you can find them on CheapSmells with prices ranging from £2.95 - £3.95.

I really like these colours and the shimmer, they are perfect for a night out. The black ‘Goddess’ shade actually has blue glitter in but it is hard to see in the photo, this makes it a great colour to create a smoky eye. These kind of remind me of the Barry M eye shadow pots however these are a thicker consistency and I think a better quality.

The one thing that I do not like about these is the applicator. It is a stubby little brush which makes it hard to apply and does not hold product very well. I find that the best way to apply these eye shadows is to pour a little bit out either into a dish or even a bit of paper and use your own applicator tools.

I think these are a great product to add to your collection as they have some beautiful shades, they are fantastic quality and they are easy to blend to create different looks.

Do you have any other shades in this range?

My Exfoliating Routine

So today I thought I would share with you my exfoliating routine. I exfoliate once or twice a week as I find that is enough to keep my skin soft and fresh. The two products that I use are 2 of my ultimate favourite body products and they are from Soap and Glory which again is a brand that I think are fabulous!

First of all I use the Flake Away body polish which contains shea butter, sugar and peach seed powder, it honestly smells amazing. I use this all over my body using an exfoliating mitt. When I come out of the shower I will then use The Righteous Body Butter which is a blend of shea butter and aloe vera, mmm mmm.

Both of these products are so luxurious to use. As you can see they both have quite a thick consistency. The Flake Away is grainy but does not feel too harsh on your skin and the Righteous Butter is so thick and moisturising yet sinks into your skin in no time at all.

Another reason that I love the combination of these products is that the longevity of the scent is incredible. You can still smell the Soap and Glory goodness on your skin hours after applying.

If you have never tried any products from Soap and Glory first of all, where have you been hiding? Secondly if you only try 2 products from their range make it these 2 and you will be a complete convert!

What do you use in your exfoliating routine?

Lush 'Catastrophe Cosmetic' Face Mask

I had read a lot about this facemask on blogs and heard it mentioned on twitter countless times so when my skin decided it was going to throw a strop I just had to get it.

The Catastrophe Cosmetic facemask is made from blueberries, chamomile and calamine to aid problematic skin. This was exactly what I needed!

The mask smells quite nice and makes me feel relaxed. It feels gentle on my skin and you can feel it working its magic almost instantly. The mask takes 10-15 minutes to harden, any excuse for a little ‘me’ time where I can just sit and close my eyes or have a bit of a read.  Cue the photo of me looking like a scary swamp lady:

When the mask has hardened it washes off easily leaving my skin feeling soft and looking cleansed and bright. In terms of how it affects my problem areas it is a miracle worker. The next day my skin is clearer and spots look less angry!

I cannot recommend this face mask enough. At those certain times of the month when your skin just doesn’t want to play ball this is a life saver.
